FIS Requests Donations from Book Fair for New “Heroes” Program

This holiday season, the Freedom Intermediate School Library Media Center would like to bring joy to our community through the gift of reading. Our Winter Book Fair with Scholastic will be held December 12th-16th at Freedom Intermediate School. We have a special wish list this year to benefit children who have been touched by tragedy. We will be collecting new books and donations to buy books to give to the Franklin Police and Fire Departments. These brave public servants will carry the books in their vehicles so they may give them to children they meet as first responders to local emergencies. To get this initiative started, we have selected several books that will be available at the Book Fair for purchase and donation. Receptacles for both Police and Fire departments will be in place at the Fair to collect the purchased books and/or monetary donations. We are excited to report that both departments will have representatives come to school during the Book Fair to talk with students about their favorite books. Please encourage your neighbors and friends to attend our Book Fair, make a donation, or shop our online fair to donate books to this new community reading program! You can shop online from December 4-17 at: http://www.scholastic.com/bf/freedomintermediateschool The Book Fair will be December 12-16 in the FIS Lobby.
