Important Registration Information for 2016-2017 School Year: Thank you to those who have pre-registered their children for next year using Skyward Family Access. While the official registration period is over, Skyward Family Access is still available for those who have not yet logged on to enroll their students. Important budget and personnel decisions that are being made now rely on accurate student enrollment numbers, so your prompt attention to completing student registration is extremely important. Also, if you have registered, but NOT YET submitted your proofs of residency, please send two current utility bills with your name and address printed on them to your child’s school office. Students are not considered enrolled and will not be assigned to a class until all documents are turned in. FSSD 2016-2017 Online Registration Period April 1-30

The Franklin Special School District online registration period for all new or currently enrolled FSSD pre-kindergarten through 7th grade students will be April 1-30, 2016. Please visit FSSD Registration and choose either the New Student Registration link or the Returning Student Registration link. Skyward will even auto-translate into dozens of world languages. If you have a returning student, you will need to be prepared to log in to your Skyward Family Access account. The registration process will need to be completed for each child and you will receive all notification and confirmation of your registration through Family Access, including notices of important deadlines and the required information. If you have not already set up your Family Access account or you need help accessing your established account, please contact your school office. Your family’s unique user name will allow you to access all of your FSSD students. As a convenience, there will be computer kiosks available in each school during the month of April for parents in need of online access or assistance with this process. OPEN LABSIn addition, any family wishing to register may stop by the following Open Labs (regardless of school zone) to receive assistance. Those who attend these sessions will need to have Skyward log in credentials to participate (please contact your child’s school prior to the open labs if you need assistance): Poplar Grove Elementary (2959 Del Rio Pike) will have the computer lab open with staff available to help families register on April 7 from 2:30 until 6:00 PM. Walk Across Williamson 2016 Spans Month of March

Walk Across WilliamsonDid you know that by averaging 60 minutes of physical activity every day during the month of March, a person can walk across Williamson County! From March 1 – 31, 2016, we want our students and their families (ages 4 and up) to record each day the number of minutes they are physically active, including time spent at PE, participating in after-school activities, workouts in the gym, or engaging in active free play with your family.  At the end of the month, calculate the total number of minutes each of you were physically active in your Activity Log, and enter your information electronically at Walk Across Williamson online. TNReady Survey Component Online

To better understand instructional practices in the areas of English/Language Arts and Math, the Tennessee Department of Education is asking Tennessee students in grades 3-8 to answer eight survey questions when they complete the TNReady Assessments in these subjects. The total time anticipated for this survey is less than 5 minutes. It is important to note that the survey questions are not required and students may skip them by clicking “Next” at the top of the screen without answering the questions. Information gathered from student responses is used by the Tennessee Department of Education to examine instructional practices across the state.
