Honors Program (High School Credit Courses) Summer Testing July 14

The vision of the Franklin Special School District (FSSD) is to provide Excellence in Teaching and Learning for All. Because the FSSD is committed to providing a more deliberate focus on individualized and personalized instructional experiences, the FSSD offers high school credit-bearing Algebra I or world language classes (French or Spanish) for qualifying students in grades 7-8.

If you believe your child has reached a level of proficiency which will make him/her a good candidate for Algebra I or world language in middle school, you may request that he/she take the Iowa Algebra Aptitude Test (IAAT), a standardized measure specifically constructed to indicate mathematics aptitude for Algebra and/or the Modern Language Aptitude Test-Elementary (MLAT-E). Students who meet the IAAT score criteria will become eligible to participate in FSSD’s Algebra I classes in either 7th or 8th grade. Students who meet the MLAT-E score criteria will become eligible to participate in FSSD’s world language classes beginning in 7th grade.

The IAAT and/or MLAT-E test will be administered at Freedom Intermediate School, Freedom Middle School and Poplar Grove Middle School for the 2016-17 school year on Thursday, July 14, 2016. The IAAT Test will be administered at 12:30 p.m. and the MLAT-E will be administered at 2:00 p.m.  (NOTE: Students will test at their ZONED SCHOOL on the day of testing.)
