Each year the Tennessee School Boards Association honors one school volunteer from each of its nine districts who who has distinguished himself or herself by demonstrating exceptional commitment to volunteerism in a local school district. On September 26, TSBA announced the 2019 Mid Cumberland District Volunteer Recognition Award winner is Nicole Clark of Franklin Special School District. Clark serves on the PTO leadership team and has worked with Franklin Elementary School students and faculty for the last four years. She has added immeasurable value to the PTO organization and Franklin Elementary School. Leadership, structure, planning, and communication have improved greatly as shown by the increase in parent volunteerism. She also helped in coordinating a fundraiser for the fine arts department which raised approximately $15,000.
TSBA selects the district winner based on exemplary leadership, creativity, cooperation and hard work in their service to a school. Clark is one of nine volunteer award winners who will be competing to receive the Tennessee School Volunteer Recognition Award presented at the TSBA Convention in November. This award will includes a $1,000 grant to the school of their choice.
