Franklin Special School District provides a Special Education Preschool program to meet the needs of three- to five-year-old children who have developmental delays. This school-based program includes positive peer role models in each Special Education Preschool class. The inclusion model provides a wide range of learning opportunities and the least restrictive environment that is both stimulating and challenging for both groups of children. The program also promotes belonging, friendships, understanding and acceptance of others who are different. The school day is 6 hours – generally 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM – Monday through Friday beginning the first day of school.
We are currently accepting enrollment applications for typically developing positive peer role models to be considered for the FSSD special education peer role model program for the 2019-2020 school year. Eligible students must be 4 years old by August 15, 2019, ineligible for kindergarten, and reside in or have a parent employed in the Franklin Special School District. A monthly fee of $300 is required for the program with a sliding fee scale for qualifying families.
